Framing Guide

Your Guide to Framing Wall Art

Choosing the right frame enhances your artwork and complements your space. Here's our curator-approved guide to framing prints and canvas.

Frame Styles by Aesthetic

Coastal & Seaside Art
Light natural wood, white-washed frames, or clean white frames create an airy, serene feel that complements ocean and beach imagery.Coastal canvas with white frame in bedroom

Forest & Woodland Art
Medium to dark wood tones, black frames, or natural oak bring out the depth in forest landscapes and create a grounded, organic look.

Sizing Recommendations

Above a Sofa or Bed
Choose artwork that spans 2/3 to 3/4 the width of your furniture. For an 84" sofa, consider a 48-60" wide piece or a gallery wall arrangement.

Hallways & Entryways
Vertical orientations work beautifully in narrow spaces. Leave at least 6-8 inches of wall space on each side.

Small Accent Walls
A single statement piece (24x36" or larger) creates impact. Smaller prints (11x14" to 16x20") work well in groupings or on shelves.

Matting Options

With Matting
Adds breathing room around the artwork and creates a gallery-quality presentation. Recommended for traditional or formal spaces.

Without Matting
Creates a modern, edge-to-edge look that maximizes the artwork's presence. Perfect for contemporary and minimalist interiors.

Canvas Prints

Our gallery-wrapped canvas prints arrive ready to hang—no framing required. The image wraps around the edges for a clean, modern presentation. You can also add a floater frame for extra dimension and a finished gallery look.

Care & Placement

• Avoid direct sunlight to preserve colors over time
• Keep artwork away from high-humidity areas
• Dust frames gently with a soft, dry cloth
• Use appropriate hanging hardware for the weight of your piece
